'Harlequin'
A striking bloom of rich carnelian pink edged pure white, with fringed petal edges which exaggerate the picotee. This compact grower blooms over an extended period from mid to late summer. Its unique color has earned it a recent revival under a cute trademarked name; not surprising as we see this more and more in the world of old plants. Harlequin has sparked a new series of hybrids which present broken colors through picotees as well as marbles, like Lady Nabuko. Steiniger, 1957.
